Accessibility statement
Information and services available in digital form make it easier for people with disabilities to communicate with public authorities. This makes it possible for everyone to participate in social and political life. The Federal Administration endeavours to make its website content and mobile applications accessible. The eCH-0059 Accessibility Standard Version 3 requires compliance with the criteria of WCAG 2.1 at conformance level AA.
Overarching provisions
Provisions on accessibility are set out in the following legislation:
- Article 9 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) explains the guarantee of equal access to information and services for the public.
- Article 8 paragraph 2 of the Federal Constitution states that no person may be discriminated against because of a physical, mental or psychological disability.
- The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requires measures to be taken to prevent, reduce or eliminate discrimination.
- The Ordinance on the Elimination of Discrimination against People with Disabilities (EPDO) contains provisions on the requirements to accommodate people with disabilities when designing federal services.
- Article 3 of the Federal Act on the Use of Electronic Means to Carry Out Official Tasks (EMOTA). Paragraph 4:They shall ensure that their services are accessible to the entire population.

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1, level AA. The exceptions are listed below.
Exceptions
The content listed below is not deemed accessible for the following reasons:
- Audio descriptions may be missing from the videos.
- In many cases, external content integrated via iframe is not accessible.
- There is still very little content in simplified language, but this is constantly being expanded.
